As a metalsmith, I draw my inspiration from the textures, rhythms and colors of nature, for both my chain maille and fabricated pieces. To me the chains transcend cold metal and become fluid and flowing, much like the water that has always strongly influenced me. My fabricated pieces are frequently kinetic, and often incorporate a variety of surface embellishment techniques to replicate natural textures and contrasts. More recently, multiple stones characterize my work, ranging from precious and semi-precious to common, from faceted and cabochon to rough, tumbled, or even simple beach stones, all combining and culminating in large statement pieces.
