Artists > Thomas Winebrenner

Thomas Winebrenner was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan in 1955 and received an A.A.S. in Technical Illustration from Ferris State College in 1978. He worked full time as a technical illustrator for several years and ultimately financed a B.S. in Fisheries and Wildlife Management from Michigan State University exclusively through freelance illustration, cartooning and photography work. His parents purchased a log cabin on a small inland lake in 1962 that is now within the boundaries of the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. Early years at the lake instilled a deep connection to the area and an appreciation for the beauty and complexity of the natural world. He now lives in Dexter, Michigan and works from a home-based studio.
